The Verbum Dei Missionary Family (VDMFa) is a reality of the Catholic Church at the service of the Word of God, to which belong all the faithful sharing in the same Verbum Dei spirituality and mission.

The structure of the Family takes into account the intention of the founder, Fr. Jaime Bonet, who wanted to encourage the participation and responsibility of all the members of the Family in the apostolate, seeking its greatest promotion, in order to offer the Word of God to the maximum number of people possible.

The VDMFa offers its members who have confirmed a personal call to the Verbum Dei charism different ways of participation and beloning through temporal or stable commitments, through which the person and the Family commit themeselves to help eachother in living out the charism.  The members live their baptismal consecration and their belonging to the Family in a diverse number of ways.

The different modes of participation are:

  • In the Fraternity, as a member of one of the three branches (Missionary Women, Missionary Men or Missionary Married Couples);
  • In the Group of Lay Missionaries of the Missionary Family;
  • The Family may also count on diocesan priests associated to the Verbum Dei.
