The Retreat centre aims to be a place of encounter with God, combining simplicity with a welcoming atmosphere of community. It is situated in beautiful scenery at the heart of the Isle of Wight with impressive views towards the south of the island. The centre incorporates a cottage and outbuildings that were originally part of St.Dominic’s Priory; a Dominican Convent built in the 19th century overlooking Carisbrooke Castle.

How to get there by car:
There are car ferry services running from Southampton to East Cowes , Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Lymington to Yarmouth.

On arriving to the island follow signs to Newport. Those travelling from Fishbourne and East Cowes will enter Newport on the A3054, keep left on the first main roundabout following signs to Sandown. After the second roundabout turn right into Shide Road, take the first left, and then continue straight on over the mini-roundabout to Whitepit Lane. At the second mini-roundabout turn left up the hill, and take the first turning on the left which is Nunnery Lane. The Retreat Centre is a couple of hundred yards up, on the left hand side.
