Who we are

Encounter

26-28th February

The Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity is an International Catholic Community founded in 1963.

It is an International Family extending to and embracing people of all states and areas of life, united with one and the same charism and mission.

We seek to be a clear expression of the Kingdom of God, building up Christian communities of living faith, through prayer, witness of life, and the ministry of the Word. The love of God urges us to respond to the needs of a broken world.

What we offer

  Where we are

The community offers a number of activities, weekend encounters and retreats in the retreat centre on the Isle of Wight. In the three communities we have weekly groups for faith sharing, prayer with the Word, as well as schools of evangelisation. We also offer daily guidelines for prayer, both in the mornings in our chapels, as well as written and sent by e-mail

In the U.K. the community has a retreat centre on the Isle of Wight, and communities work in Southampton, Reading, London and on the the Isle of Wight.

Verbum Dei is international with communities in over 30 countries, throughout five continents.
