The Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity (VDMF) is an Institution of Consecrated Life of the Catholic Church whose mission is to announce the Word of God and to propagate the Kingdom of God through prayer, the ministry of the Word, and the testimony of evangelical life. It was founded on January 17, 1963, in Mallorca, Spain by Rev. Jaime Bonet.

The School of the Word is open to everyone. Its purpose is to teach people how to pray with Scripture, how to grow in the personal relationship and following of Jesus, and how to tell others what you have received and experienced in prayer.

The School of the Word is offered by the Verbum Dei as a time and space to listen to the Word of God and to assimilate it so that the contemplative encounter with Christ may give us a newfound source of faith and love in our daily lives.

The School of Apostles, offered by the Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity aims to form and educate people who have touched the need and urgency for evangelization in the USA and worldwide. The Evangelizer becomes an answer to social-political conflicts observed and experienced in today’s world, and to one’s own personal struggles in daily life.

The school is primarily about a growing spiritual life that forms an evangelizer through the means of prayer, study, reflection and sharing.
This program brings together contemplative awareness for our spiritual life, and theoretical knowledge with a practical application.
The participant’s interest, social location and/or ministerial field will influence his/her own reception and personal application of sound theological teachings, which will be given in this school as different series relating to evangelization.

Weekend Encounters	Introduce young people and/or adults in an atmosphere of fraternity and prayer that offers an experience of faith -- an encounter with the Love of God. They include guided meditation with Scripture, participation in the sacraments, group faith sharing, and moments of relaxing, singing, icebreakers and games.
Prayer Retreats with the Word of God	Retreats are also offered in silence for a deeper experience of God through his Word.
